The Darkest Minds by Alexandra BrackenThis is one of my favorite books ever. Its told from the view of a girl named Ruby. It takes place in our time, but its sort of sci-fi. A disease killed almost a whole generation of kids--Ruby's generation-- and the ones who survived got super power like abilities. Adults feared the kids and wanted to 'fix' them by putting them in camps. Its a great read, the writing and story keep you interested as well as the great characters and relationships between them. I recommend this to everyone.
The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton JusterI read this book in March, thanks to my cousin recommending and lending it to me. Although its a kids book--and a rather old one too--I really liked it. Its about a boy named Milo who lives a boring life. One day a tollbooth shows up in his bedroom and he goes through it. IT takes his to a land where everything is logical and mystical; this book is like one giant pun. Since it was set for a younger reading age, it was really easy to read and it also had pictures. Everything in it was funny and different. I think it helped me think in a lot of new ways.

The Night Circus by Erin MorgensternThis is a book about two people who were chosen at a young age to compete against each other, with very high stakes. Their venue is at a traveling magic circus. The book is full of imagery--literally this book is loaded with it. It also had many different points of view. Most of the time its in third person, but every once in a while there was 2nd person, which I had never read before. Reading this helped me out and give me ideas of imagery and point of view.

Paper Towns by John GreenI like all of the John Green books I've read so far, but this one is my favorite. This one is about a senior in high school named Q. He is 'in love' with the girl next door, Margo. One night Margo comes through his window and takes him on an adventure to get revenge on people who did them wrong. After that they go home and get ready for school, but the next day, Margo disappeared. Q feels like its his job to find her, and goes on another adventure to do so. It contains a lot of metaphors--as John Green novels do--and life lessons. Very good.

The Giver by Lois LowryI decided to reread this book since I last read it for English in 7th grade. It was the first school book that I actually enjoyed. Because of that, I decided to see if I would still like it and I did. There is a reason that it's a classic. If you don't already know, it takes place in a dystopian society. Everyone is the same and everyone is assigned their life pretty much. Jonas becomes the new Receiver--a very honored job-- and learns how the society he thought he loved is really messed up.

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones by Cassandra ClareThis is the very first book I read in 2015. Contrary to the cover, its not some teen fantasy book with a huge romance in it.It follows a girl named Clary, who finds out that she can see things that normal humans aren't supposed to, meaning she is a Shadowhunter. Shadowhunters are a race of people who are half human and half angel. They protect the world from demons and monsters. Its the first book to my favorite series--The Mortal Instruments-- and I enjoyed each and every single book, all six of them! I love the authors writing and recommend it to everyone who just wants something long and fun to read.
